Friday's Story

THE GIRL WHO WENT INTO WAR

Chapter Six

The opened coupe was just wonderful. It was like a little garden with its small bushes, wild grass, gorgeous flowers and mini trees. The coupe lied between the kitchen coupe, where the cooks worked, and the dinner coupe where the food was served. There weren't a lot of people here and it seemed really strange to me because this place truly was just brilliant. I could feel the wind rumpling my hair and before i could understand it, the shy boy Nate had caught a strand of my hair and put it behind my ear. I thanked him because if he hadn't done that, the strand would have probably ended up in my mouth and I hate it when it happens.

" No biggie," he said and turned away to catch a fuge from the mid-air. It amazed me how quick his hands were. " Here, take it," he smiled and put the fuge into my opened palms.

It was so beautiful. I think that it was a he, because I had heard, that male fuges have slimmer and more graceful wings. This fuge's wings were shiny purple and silver coloured. They swashed slowly, catching the air so I had to hold it from its legs so it couldn't fly away. It was astonishing how similar they were to us- humans. I would call them fairies, but they really don't look exactly like them... they are some kind of a mix of fairies, goblins and fenghuangs- this strange mix made them look mysteriously bewitching. The fuge, who was now calmly sitting in my hand, looking up to me, was beautiful.
Luke and Nate stood next to me, staring over my shoulder at the creature in my palms. Then Luke started singing:
" Picture yourself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies. Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly, a girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Cellophane flowers of yellow and green, Towering over your head. Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes, And she's gone...."
Luke was singing, he was indeed singing a song from The Beatles. And without any doubt I heard a tiny voice coming from the creature in my palms and it sounded like silver- so pure this voice was. My mouth fell open when I listened to the sound of Lukes and the fuge's voice melting together.
I got chills running all over my body.

Yay, it is SPRING, almost SUMMER.
The apple trees are blossoming, the Sun is shining.. oh, and the smell of the freshly cut grass... This is something that is truly worth waiting for.

JUST IMMAGINE....

I am very, very exited!!! In about a week I am going on a class trip to Austria. Isn't it amazing? I think I already have to start packing this week because otherways I will probably forget something and realize it only when I am already in Austria. Happens every time- true story. =)

When I walked home from school today I leaned against a tree in the park- just to observe the Sun shining through the branches of the trees and the dandelions glowing in the grass. I have to admit that the sight was just breathtaking. Then suddenly I heard a strange knocking from the tree against what I was leaning. I looked around confused and thought that maybe it was a woodpecker, but no... to my surprise it was a raven who was enthusiastically tapping a branch of the tree until it fell off. My astonishment was big and I thought : Is this normal, do ravens usually do that kind of stuff or not? Before I could answer my question, my train of thought was cut off by another raven who started croaking at the raven who was tapping the branches and then another thought popped into my head- it is probably a little family argument because one of the ravens had tapped off the others favourite branch from the tree... Yeah, my thoughts really do get that strange sometimes :D

Take care and enjoy the weather! =)
